Jamie Masters has been working since 2001 as a full time sound engineer, becoming freelance in 2005 and launching Echo Studios in 2007. Having gradually worked his way into the producer’s chair, he now splits his time between producing and engineering sessions at Echo. A self-taught guitar player, Jamie spent his teens and twenties playing in numerous guitar bands, gradually realising that the studio was where he belonged. He has a wide variety of experience in recording albums, EPs, singles and demos for both professional and amateur artists, and is a member of the Music Producers Guild.
Jamie is married to Nicola and together they have two children, Neve and Rufus (he wasn’t allowed to call his second child after a mixing desk as well… although Solid State Logic was an option for a while). He struggles to do anything before having at least two cups of coffee in the morning and you can read his blog here.
James Torselli has been a sound engineer at Echo since February 2011. An accomplished bass player, James combines working at the studio with running his band, Ryker Sear, with whom he first visited the studio in 2009 to record their debut album. He teaches guitar and bass and plays a variety of instruments including guitar, drums, violin and clarinet. He can read and write music and has written music for film. Needless to say, if you need someone to put a C major 9 in your music, then James is your man. He is a vegan whose ability not to drink tea or coffee consistently amazes Jamie.
